THE WORK I DO
-
In my work with Oak Hills Counseling Center, I provide therapists with additional supervision support. Supervision work, to me, is a relationship- one rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and trust. I don’t believe in just giving answers or checking boxes. Instead, I aim to create a space where folks can slow down, think critically, and explore clinical work in a way that feels both supportive and empowering.
My approach is reflective and strengths-based. I want clinicians to feel safe bringing in the complex parts of this work, because that’s where growth happens. Even seasoned therapists are always growing! I help conceptualize cases, discuss laws and ethics, and explore areas where the therapist themselves may need support. I make space for conversations about how clinicians can expand their work, while staying connected to the kind of practitioners they want to be.
-
As the Compliance Officer for Oak Hills Counseling Center, I make sure they operate with integrity, transparency, and in full alignment with state and federal regulations. In a mental health group practice, compliance isn’t just about rules, it’s about protecting the privacy and rights of clients, safeguarding sensitive health information, and ensuring that clinicians and staff follow the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct.
I oversee policies and procedures related to HIPAA, billing and documentation practices, staff training, and risk management. I also keep track of regulatory changes in the mental health field and guide the team at OHCC in adapting to new requirements, so providers can stay focused on what matters most: delivering excellent care. My role is to identify potential risks, respond to concerns, and foster a culture of accountability, helping to create a safe, trustworthy environment for both clients and clinicians.
-
I’m proud to partner with Oak Hills Counseling Center as their business consultant. I specialize in helping build clarity, reducing chaos, and staying aligned with their mission, all while ensuring that their policies, systems, and structures actually work in the real world.
My work helps support these areas of their practice:
Policies & Procedures
Oregon COA Compliance (Division 309-019)
Compliance with documentation & workflow requirements
Clinical systems that support quality care
Supervision models, onboarding & hiring systems
EHR/billing system selection + documentation flow
Ethical consultation & team boundary support
Custom solutions for things that don’t fit neatly in a box
Why me? I actually like this stuff! I’ve spent over a decade writing policies, building supervision models, and supporting teams at every stage- from startup to restructuring. I’ve maintained COA approval across multiple programs and years, trained countless supervisors, and helped therapists build practices that feel good to run.
ABOUT ME
I have over 15 years of experience as a clinical supervisor, educator, and program director. I am a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™ (RPT-S™), and an AAMFT Approved Clinical Supervisor. I also serve as adjunct faculty at both the University of Western States and George Fox University, where I teach courses in play therapy, human development, and clinical training for graduate counseling students. I also provide clinical trainings and supervision in areas such as play therapy, trauma-informed care, parenting, child and adolescent mental health, and stress management.
I am the owner of Jamie Watson Consulting, Inc., where I support therapists and group practice owners through clinical supervision, consultation, and private practice coaching. I love helping clinicians deepen their clinical skills, pursue credentials like RPT™ and AAMFT supervision, and build sustainable, ethical practices. Through consulting, I also provide guidance on starting and scaling private practices, navigating state certification and audits, and creating tools and training that help therapists thrive without burning out.
I’m deeply engaged in the professional community. I have served on the board of the Oregon Association for Play Therapy (ORAPT) for over a decade, including multiple terms as President, and currently serve as Secretary. Nationally, I contribute to the field through my work on the Association for Play Therapy’s Ethics and Practice Guidelines Committee.
I am committed to creating spaces of safety, growth, and connection—where clients and clinicians alike feel seen, valued, and supported. I am also known to incorporate my Goldendoodle, Juniper, into my work whenever possible. So if you happen to see him roaming the rooms of Oak Hills Counseling Center please say hello!
